He was married to Bette (Oleson) Sedall on August 8, 1951 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Sigel, Wisconsin.

For a short time, Don worked at Paperboard Products Company and also as a repair technician at Blenker’s TV and Appliance.  He began employment for the Wood County Sheriff’s Department in January of 1962 and retired as undersheriff in July of 1985.

From 1949 to 1950, Don participated in Golden Gloves boxing and won the heavyweight title in 1950.

He was a long-time member of American Legion Post #485 in Rudolph and Elk’s Lodge #693 in Wisconsin Rapids.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, playing pool and cards.  He also enjoyed attending the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters baseball games and cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.  Don was a great cook and handyman who could fix anything.  He treasured spending time with his grandchildren and always took great interest in their sporting events.

Don and Bette enjoyed their 70 years together and 26 winters in Mesa, Arizona where they made life-long friends.

Don is survived by his wife Bette; daughter, Sally Zimmerman (fiance’ Jim Gardapee) of Plymouth, Wisconsin; sons: Richard (Rhonda) of Wisconsin Rapids, Bruce of Chalfont, Pennsylvania, and Brian of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Krist Zimmerman (Clare), Stacey Groll (Chris McDonell), Luke (Lindsey) Sedall, Katie (Joe) Seubert, Matthew Sedall, Andrew Sedall, Jenny (Travis) Primeau, and Tyler Sedall; great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Zimmerman, Callum Zimmerman, Bryanna Groll, Kenna Seubert, Jada Seubert, and Hunter Primeau.  He is further survived by brothers: James (Linda) Sedall, and Jerome (Linda) Sedall; sister, Jeanette Baltus; brothers-in-law: David Oleson and James (Barb) Brehm; and many nieces and nephews.
