Obituary

Randall G. Finup, age 73, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.  Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.

Randy was born September 12, 1949 in Wisconsin Rapids to Gordon and Doris (Cline) Finup. He graduated from John Edwards High School in Port Edwards in 1967, and studied auto mechanics and welding at Mid-State Technical College.

He married Carol Winkler on December 27, 1970.  They were blessed with 52 years of marriage and three children: Randall Jr., Kelly, and Christopher.

Randy worked as a customer service representative in the tire center at Mills Fleet Farm after his retirement.  He was an excellent woodworker and owned and operated RC Crafters with his wife Carol for 25 years.

Randy was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed taking fishing trips to Canada in pursuit of walleye and northern pike, and snowmobiling.  He also loved taking pontoon rides on the river and stopping at the sandbars. Randy and Carol recently spent time together on a UTV trip to West Virginia. Randy enjoyed cutting firewood and helping Carol with the yard work.  He was a great handyman and was known as the “MacGyver” in the family and could fix anything around the house. He would help out anyone when they needed it.  He was also a member of the Bahamas car cruise club.  Randy had an infectious laugh and loved to tease others.  He is loved and will be dearly missed by his loving wife Carol.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Carol; two children: Kelly (Matthew) Lukich and Christopher Finup of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Nathan, Alyssa “Herman”, and Cole “Bailey” all of Wisconsin Rapids; siblings: Diane Dusenske of Cottage Grove, Greg (Debbie) Finup of Wisconsin Rapids, Marilyn Bohen of Stevens Point, David Finup of Port Edwards, and Patty Stainbrook of Cottage Grove; and special pets: Cooper and Hiker.  He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Randall G. Finup Jr.; and brothers-in-law: Ed Bohen and Dale Stainbrook.

The family would like to thank the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department paramedics for their quick response and life saving measures provided.
