Lilyan "Dolly" (Grauvogal) Giese Obituary (1926

Lilyan "Dolly" Giese, age 96 passed away on November 7, 2022. She was born on November 4, 1926, to Joseph and Anna Grauvogal in Rozellville, WI, she was the youngest of 9 children. Dolly graduated with honors from Marshfield High School in 1944. She married Gene Giese in Wisconsin Rapids in 1955. Dolly moved to Wisconsin Rapids where she had several jobs including, Assistant Manager at CW Trasport leaving there in 1966. She then worked for Social Security Administration here in Wisconsin Rapids and in Phoenix Arizona. In 1988 she retired and moved back to Wisconsin Rapids. Gene and Dolly also owned and operated The Coffee Shop in Port Edwards in the early 60's, well known for her wonderful pies. Dolly also carried a State of Wisconsin Realtors license and was a spec home builder, building more than 20 homes over the years in the Wisconsin Rapids area. in her free time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, and snowmobiling. Dolly is survived by 2 daughters, Lynn (Kevin) Kester of Wisconsin Rapids and Paula (Tom) Woods of Freedom, WI; Grandchildren, Stacie Lawver, Jason Fry, Brandon (Becky) Greeneway, Cole (Courtney Sheldon) Woods and Samantha Woods; Great Grandchildren, Kyla, Nick, Elise, Alex, Skyler, Lenix, and Savannah; Great Great Grandchildren, Bella, Zander, Abby, Scarlett and Sabaysten. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene in 1982, and her siblings and their spouses. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
