Barbara A. Kronstedt, age 84, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away peacefully at home June 21, 2021.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25th. Services will be held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, June 26th with visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Carlton Andersen will be officiating. Burial at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids will follow the service.
Barbara was born February 21, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids to George and Erma Schroeder. She was raised on their family farm in the Town of Sherry, where she developed a love of animals, especially her pet pig Ephram Ferdinand III and beagle Fritzy. She attended Meadow Brook Grade School (a one room school) and graduated as salutatorian from Auburndale High School in 1956. She married Wayne Kronstedt on June 8, 1957.
Barb was employed at Consoweld Corporation (1956-1957) in both the lab and stenography department, followed by World Book Encyclopedia (1964-1969), and then Consolidated Papers, Inc. (1975-1992) where she worked in the stenography department and as secretary clerk in the quality control department.
Barbara enjoyed a variety of things in her life including: singing for weddings; being a home maker; being a member of card clubs; dancing; going out to eat with friends, family, and the Kiwanis ladies on Wednesday nights. She enjoyed following all the Wisconsin sports teams, especially the Brewers. Barb loved sewing, including having sewn her own wedding dress and dresses for her bridesmaids and flower girls.
Wayne and Barb loved traveling making it to 49 of the 50 states, Jamaica, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the Mediterranean, and cruises with family, friends, and church tours.
Barbara was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Sherry, WI and joined St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Wisconsin Rapids after marriage and was on the committee to start the child care program.
She is survived by her husband Wayne of 64 years, children - Nancy Kronstedt, Keith (Kimberly) Kronstedt, Brian Kronstedt (Carrie Aspseter); Grandchildren - Erik (Libby) Kronstedt, Brandon (Hailey) Kronstedt, Kylie Kronstedt and Kole Kronstedt; Great Grandchildren - Katherine, Lillian, and Harvey Kronstedt; and Lifelong friend Evelynn (Strub) Woiak.
Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents George and Erma Schroeder, brother Richard (Dick) Schroeder and his wife Alice, and grandparents Henry and Anna (Pagel) Gaulke.
