Betty A. Wiater, age 92, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
A private graveside service will be had at Fifield Cemetery at a later date.
Betty was born on April 4, 1931 in Fifield, WI (Town of Lake) to Joseph and Rose (Lobermeier) Koshak. She graduated from Fifield High School in 1949. Betty married Donald Wiater on May 24, 1951.
She lived in Milwaukee and worked at Holeproof Hosiery Company before moving back to Wisconsin Rapids. She did construction and helped operate the T.V. repair shop. Betty worked for Basic American Foods for 23 years until her retirement.
In her earlier years, Betty was an active member of several snowmobile clubs throughout the area. She was proud of the time she served as a volunteer member of the Grand Rapids Fire Department. She also liked boating, waterskiing and tending to her gardens. She especially liked being a member at the local YMCA where she made many friends and enjoyed visiting with them. Betty cherished spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her sons: Scott (Susan) Wiater and Bruce (Cathy) Wiater; grandchildren: Remington (Alice) Wiater, Aaron Wiater, and Kaylin (Jarred) Wiater-Studinski; great-grandchildren: Kimber, Bruce and Ripley; siblings: Lila Boles and Alice (Ervin) Shudarek; and many nieces and nephews and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Donnie; siblings: Ida (Ed) Botka, Robert Koshak,
and younger brothers Harry and James.
