Ruth was born June 25, 1940 in Newton, Illinois, the eldest child of Ralph and Lucille Kresin.  At age 11, the family moved to Wausau, WI where Ruth attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Wausau High School.  She received her degree in Art Education from UW-Superior and worked in education for her entire life.

She married John Macomber and they had two sons, Paul and Peter.  While raising her sons, she taught in various schools but spent the majority of her career teaching in the Nekoosa School District, finishing the last 20 years at the high school, retiring in 2000.  She loved teaching much she returned to the profession, teaching elementary art at Immanuel Lutheran School in Wisconsin Rapids and completed her life’s work as an Art Therapy Instructor for several assisting living facilities in the area as well as the Wisconsin Rapids Home School Organization.

Ruth never met a stranger and would talk to anyone on any topic, especially about her love of baseball or her Lord Jesus.  Immanuel Lutheran Church will remember her passing out candy before evening services.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Sr. and Lucille; her husband John; son Peter; and brother and sister-in-law Ralph Jr. and Marilyn Kresin.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Paul and Wanda; grandchildren: David Macomber, Danielle (Kalin) Irick, Alexander Macomber, Nicholas Macomber, Logan Macomber, Jason Daughenbaugh, and Melissa (Mitchell) Johnson; two great-grandchildren; sister Rachael Olson; brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Jane Kresin; nephews: Scott (Melantha) Kresin, Jordan (Joanna) Olson, and John (Amelie) Kresin; nieces: Joy Pearson and Kelsey O’Keefe; four great-nephews; three great-nieces; and many dear friends and relatives.

We rejoice knowing that she is with those who have gone before together with her Lord and Savior.
