Carol Burrows was born May 26, 1942 in Egg Harbor NJ to Evelyn (Mueller) and Carl Weber.
As a young girl her parents moved to Wisconsin Rapids, where her siblings were born and she remained for the rest of her life. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Thomas and Christopher and one grandchild Gavin Luchini.
She is survived by her two sisters Mary Slattery and Theresa Grode, along with her children: John, Daniel, Jane, Steven, and Laura, ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She passed on during a magnificent thunderstorm on the evening of August 27, 2021, surrounded by her children. Carol’s life work was the care of others. As her 5 children moved out into the world, her focus shifted to her adopted children, her cats. Over time her family grew, giving her grandchildren. They came to know her as Grandma Meow. Her yard became an unofficial sanctuary for birds and other wildlife. Whoever came to her home was well cared for. She enjoyed painting, making art for family and friends. She enjoyed the simplicity of a night by the firepit with family and friends or a good book to read in a quiet house.
Throughout her years Carol enjoyed the outdoors immensely. Her passion for the wonders of the stars and beyond had always fascinated her since childhood. There may have been times that other interests took precedence, but she always came back to all that is the cosmos. Her thoughts may have been to the heavens, but her heart and feet where always firmly planted on solid ground
We’ll see you there, in the stars.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation can be made to the South Wood County Humane Society of Wisconsin Rapids in her name.
