Obituary

Carol J. Schmitt, 90, of the Town of Rome, Wisconsin passed away on April 11, 2022 at her residence.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date in her hometown of Racine, WI.

She was born on April 29, 1931 in Chicago, IL to William and Caroline (Kozumplik) Danek.  She married Frank J. Schmitt on April 4, 1964 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Racine.

During her working career, she was a secretary in the insurance industry. 

She is survived by her children Sandra Dasenbrook and Terri Higgins; grandchildren David (Kristin) Higgins, Vickie (Robert) Jahnke, Jessica (Jeffrey) White, and Keith (Megan) Dasenbrook; great-grandchildren Brian Scott, Brandon Scott, and Brittany Scott; great-grandchildren: Jaden White and Jordan White; great-great-grandson Bennette Scott; and two nieces and one nephew.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents William and Caroline Danek; husband Frank Schmitt; sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Ernie Nielson.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Heartland Hospice Care.
