Clara was born on July 21, 1936 to Leslie and Bessie (Chrystal) Raasch in the Town of Grant, Portage County, on the family farm.  Clara was a graduate of Lincoln High School.  She worked briefly at Consolidated Papers.  Clara married the love of her life, Benson (Benny) Bottensek, on June 20, 1959 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where they would be active members throughout their lives together.  They were blessed with two children in addition to 58 years together.  Clara lived in Wisconsin Rapids her entire life.

Clara was a loving Wife and Mother, kept a beautiful home, and enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, canning, and many craft projects.  She sewed clothes for her daughters and herself, as well as doing tailoring.  She enjoyed getting together to have rummage sales with her sisters.  She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Quilt Club and sewed many quilts that she gave to her daughters and nieces.  She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and recipes.  At Christmas time she would bake dozens of different cookies and candies for her family to enjoy and to give away.  She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Dime and Dollar Thrift store.  Clara enjoyed going to rummage and yard sales, often riding her trusty blue bicycle or pink moped to Kellner area sales.  She loved daisies, the color blue, and sunny, 70 degree summer days.

Clara is survived by daughters Tamela (Scott) Steindorf, and Lisa (Brian) Schoechert; beloved grandchildren Joseph (Jess) Bottensek, and Ted Schoechert;  great-grandchildren Hudson and Chloe Bottensek; siblings Marion Oleson, Marilyn Raflik, and Marvin (Dorothy) Raasch, sisters-in-law Elaine (Joe) Bauman, Cheri (Barry) Rupp, and Nancy Raasch, and brothers-in-law Wayne Ziebell, Roger Bottensek, John (Angie) Bottensek and Dale (Paula) Bottensek.  She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by Benson, her parents, her mother and father-in law, her brothers Carl, Frank, and Harold Raasch, her sisters Alice Greene and Carol Ziebell, brothers-in-law James Greene, Curtis Oleson, and Daniel Raflik, and sisters-in-law Barbara Bottensek and Darlene Chipman.
