Darlene M. Marzofka, age 87, of Rudolph, WI, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Fr. Janusz Kowalski will officiate. A time of visitation for relatives and friends will be from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Darlene was born October 6, 1933 in Auburndale, WI to Norbert and Agnes (Ashbeck) Haasl. She attended Catholic grade school in Auburndale and graduated from Auburndale High School. She met the love of her life, Donald Marzofka, at the Sherryland Ballroom. They were united in marriage on October 6, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburndale. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage.
Darlene was an avid quilter and shared her quilts as gifts to many friends and family members. She enjoyed playing Cribbage and Sheepshead. She and Don played Sheepshead with the same group of friends for over 60 years. Darlene also enjoyed camping, especially at Firefly, where she would sit in the boat and read a good book while Don fished. Darlene and Don had a cabin that they built on Little Spider Lake and enjoyed many good times there with family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband Don; two children: Darla (David) Moran and Dan Marzofka of Rudolph; eight grandchildren: Dawn, Dennis, Dana, Jeremy, Tonya, Nick, Chris, and Tina; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley (Jim) Palecek. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons: David and Dale Marzofka, and one brother, Fritz Haasl.
