Eunice I. Ponczoch, age 100, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Eunice was born July 19, 1921 in Oelwein, IA to William and Catherine (Glasshof) Zange. She met Edwards Ponczoch in 1941 while working at Adhawagam Paper Products factory in the carton department. Eunice and Edward married on October 19, 1946 in Stevens Point, WI. They were blessed with 54 years of marriage. Edward passed away on August 31, 2000.
Eunice had the gift of gab and loved telling stories. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She loved playing cards and bingo, and going on Sunday rides to visit with extended family. She loved children, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the children Ellie babysat.
Eunice is survived by two daughters: Shirley Kussman and Ellen (Ken) Haasl of Wisconsin Rapids; two grandchildren: Michelle (Robert) McDonald and David Flaminio of Wisconsin Rapids; great-grandchildren: Cole Sorenson, July Hendriksen, Carlee Kelley, and Skyler Flaminio; sister-in-law, Helen Ponczoch of Wisconsin Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; daughter, Marilyn Ponczoch; son-in-law Gene Kussman; and six sisters: Wilda Smyth, Wilma (John) Smith; Delores Kurth; Carol Dobyns; Darlene (Frank) Johnson; and Marilyn Graffunder; and in-laws: Melvin Ponczoch, Marie Reif, Eleanor (Bill) Slattery, Helen (Leo) VanErt, John (Merie) Ponczoch, Laura Smith, Catherine (Ted) Sultze, Ervin Ponczoch, and Sylvester Ponczoch.
