Irene E. Quinnell, age 86, of Vesper, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Wisconsin Rapids Health Services surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Gary Markworth will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Sigel. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Irene was born June 7, 1936 in Wisconsin Rapids to Joseph and Bernice (Trzebny) Radtke. She married John Quinnell on January 22, 1955 in the town of Sigel. They were blessed with 64 years of memories. John preceded her in death on July 27, 2019.
Irene worked for Woodruff Lumber in Vesper for over 22 years.
She loved playing bingo, attending softball games, doing word search puzzles, taking walks, reading, and playing cards. Irene cherished attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and concerts. She enjoyed the company of her cat, Buddy. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sigel.
Irene is survived by her children: Barb (Jerry) Scheunemann of Vesper, Gary (Carolyn) Quinnell of Pittsville, Joe (Sarah) Quinnell of Port Edwards, and Lori (Carl) Werner of Milladore; her grandchildren: Stacy (Jason) Hall, Shawn (Erin) Scheunemann, Jereme (Sara) Quinnell, Ashley (Travis) Martin, Ryan (Nicole) Quinnell, Tyler Quinnell, Taylor (Lindsey) Quinnell, Travis Quinnell, Krystal Quinnell, Tara (Eric Snodie) Werner, and Justin (Amy) Werner; her great-grandchildren: Rebecca (Tyler) Benvie, Kenzie Scheunemann, Logan Scheunemann, Bennett Quinnell, and Nathalie Quinnell; her great-great-grandson, Blake Benvie; her brother, George Radtke; sister-in-law, Jane Quinnell; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and step-father Edward Aron; husband, John; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Helen Radtke, Charlie (Barb) Quinnell, Gerald Quinnell, Richard (Irene) Quinnell, James Quinnell, Ruth (Reuben) Baltus, and Ellen Quinnell; and a special niece, Correne Gaboda.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staffs of Heartland Hospice, Wisconsin Rapids Health Services, Aspirus Riverview Hospital, and the Marshfield Medical Center for all of the care Irene and the family received.
