Janice J. Hagen, age 77, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at her residence.
Services will be at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Janice was born April 8, 1944 in Wisconsin Rapids to Ernest and Irene (Haferman) Fisher. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962. She married Howard Hagen on April 2, 1967. They were blessed with 54 years of marriage.
Janice was a longtime treasurer for the Town of Sigel. She was also a partner with Howard at the family business, Hagen’s Apple Orchard, where she ran the apple shed. The jellies sold at the orchard were Janice’s own homemade creations. She loved to cook and was also known by her family for her delicious pies and homemade bread.
She was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sigel and later St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Seneca Corners. She played the organ at both churches and passed the love of playing organ to her daughter, Tammi. Janice enjoyed volunteering as a school tutor at West Junior High and her daily walks with Howard.
Janice is survived by her husband Howard; children: Tammi (Lyle) Klish, Steve Hagen, and Mark (Starr) Hagen; grandchildren: Jenilee (Steve Ewer) Klish, Jacob (Denovian Davidson) Klish, Gordon (Kristin) Lowell, Leena (Matthew) Wateski-Hansen, Joshua Hagen, Julian Hagen, Johanna Hagen, Schuylar Hagen, Emma Hagen, Lars Hagen, and Eliza Hagen; great-grandchildren: Gordon III, Evie, Oliver, and Cassidy Ewer; brothers: Gary Fisher, Dean (Beverly Jackson) Fisher, and Dale (Jeanne) Fisher; and sister-in-law, Veda Fisher. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roger Fisher.
