Obituary

Jean L. Dietsch, age 66, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at her residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 16 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the church.  A rosary service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Jean was born April 12, 1956, in Wisconsin Rapids to John Sr. and Sophie (Komperda) Fogarty.  She married James Dietsch on September 20, 1975, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. 

Jean was a stay-at-home mom, raising her daughters Jeania and Corrine.  She was an active member and volunteer at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and School where she served as choir director, librarian, home room mom, receptionist, and Brownie and Girl Scout leader. 

Jean loved to travel and go bowling with her husband Jim. In later years, Jean enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and dance and band recitals.  She enjoyed racing, and playing Solitaire.  She loved flowers and her pet cats, Bella and Angel.  Jean was also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Jean is survived by her husband, James; daughters Jeania Dietsch (Dan) and Corrine (Dean) Fleisner; her grandchildren: Kaitlynn, Ryan, Alexander, Sadie, and Zachariah; siblings: Mary Ann Miller, Joe (Lois) Fogarty, Kathleen Doran, Robert Fogarty (James), Patricia Miller, and Annette Knipstein; sister-in-law, Sue (Dennis) Hoffman; and many nephews and nieces.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: John Jr. (Ruby) Fogarty, James Fogarty, and William Fogarty; and in-laws: Ray (Donna) Dietsch,; brothers-in-law, Wayne Miller, Patrick Doran, James Miller, Lee Knipstein, and sister-in-law, Tina Dietsch.
