Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Paul Tullberg will officiate. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Mausoleum. A time of visitation for relatives and friends will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the church.
John was born January 16, 1947 in Wisconsin Rapids to Roy and Arvilla (Janz) Estlund. He was united in marriage to Darlene Zuege on August 24, 1968 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 52 years together.
He served his country in the United States Navy from 1965-1969.
John worked as a journeyman electrician at Consolidated Papers Inc., later New Page. He retired in 2008 after 38 years of dedicated service. John also owned and operated JCE Photography in Wisconsin Rapids from 1990-2013, capturing many special memories for area families.
John loved photography and one of his proudest moments was when he became a Master Photographer in 2001. He was very techy for a man his age and caught on quickly to the world of computers and digital imaging. He enjoyed flying drones and tinkering with anything electronic. John was very handy and was happy to assist his son Scott in the remodeling of his home. He is loved and will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; son, Scott (Kate) Estlund and granddaughters, Norah and Adeline Estlund of Mosinee; brother, William Estlund of Wisconsin Rapids; and nieces: Diana (Shannon) Buss, Terri Gellerman, and Khrys (James) Riley. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joann (Bob) Zellner.
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, is honored to be assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hermantaylorfuneralhome.com.
The family would like to thank Arborview Court, Heartland Hospice, and Dr. Robert Roenius for the excellent care John received.
