Keith H. Kronstedt, age 61, passed away on October 8, 2021.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15th. Services will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, October 16th, with visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m., with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Carlton Andersen will be officiating. Burial at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids will follow the service.
Keith was born May 7, 1960 in Wisconsin Rapids to Wayne and Barbara Kronstedt.
Keith graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978 and from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 1982. In 1985, he married Starr Sparks and they had two children, Erik and Brandon. That marriage ended in divorce. On June 17, 2000, he married Kimberly Fraedrich and they had two children, Kylie and Kole.
Keith had a passion for hunting and fishing that he shared with his brother Brian. They enjoyed fishing all over Wisconsin, as well as Ontario and Florida. They would take an annual trip to North Dakota to hunt pheasants and took two trips to Alaska together to hunt moose. They also loved working on and hunting the family land in Buffalo County.
Keith was a very loving father and husband. He loved spending time with his children and went on many adventures with them. He also loved traveling to visit his older sons, Erik when he lived in Seattle, and Brandon in Florida. He deeply enjoyed traveling the country to watch Kylie figure skate and Kole play hockey. He also liked watching Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer games.
Keith was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation from 1983 to 2005 as a Construction Engineer and Region Soils Engineer. During his employment at WisDOT, he received 4 statewide project manager awards for excellence in construction and numerous district project manager awards for excellence in construction. In 2005, he joined Kimberly at QUEST Civil Engineers. He helped Kimberly run their company and mentored many engineers over the years.
He is survived by his wife Kimberly of 21 years, father – Wayne Kronstedt; sister - Nancy Kronstedt; brother - Brian Kronstedt (Carrie Aspseter); Children - Erik (Libby) Kronstedt, Brandon (Hailey) Kronstedt, Kylie Kronstedt and Kole Kronstedt; Grandchildren - Kathryn, Lillian, Harvey, and Diana Kronstedt.
Keith was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Kronstedt; mother-in-law Sharon Fraedrich; grandparents George and Erma Schroeder, and Harold and Gertrude Kronstedt.
