Larry C. Tohm, age 79, of Wisconsin Rapids went to be with his Heavenly Father, on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Kevin Ader will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. A private burial will take place at a later date at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Larry was born December 4, 1941 in Saginaw, MI to Carl and Alice (Pozehl) Tohm. He grew up in Midland, MI and graduated from Breckenridge High School. Larry attended Michigan Tech. University, where he earned his B.S. M.E. in 1964. Prior to his graduation, Larry married the love of his life, Carol Raymond, on June 1, 1963. They were blessed with three children. Larry was very wise, and his wisdom will be treasured by his family.
Larry worked for Consolidated Papers, Inc. for 37 years, where he retired as Chief Mechanical Engineer in the corporate Engineering Department. Larry was a faithful active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School where he served his Lord in many roles including the Board of Education, President, Vice-President, and usher. Larry also served as a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee for the Town of Grant. Larry enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, gardening, and golfing. He was a fan of the Badgers, Brewers, Packers, and Bucks and always had some advice to offer the coaches.
Larry was a loving husband to Carol; a dedicated father to: Brian (Rachel Rumsey) Tohm, Kris Tohm, and Karen (Martin) Obsuszt; and a doting “Papa” to: Olivia, Mikayla, Brianna, and Boris. He was a special brother to Lanny. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Phyllis Raymond and sister-in-law, Judy Raymond. His memory will also be cherished by several nieces and nephews. Larry’s many friends will miss his unmistakable laugh. Along with his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delvin and Helen Raymond. He will also be forever in Heaven with his grandson, Micah; his sister-in-law, Mae Tohm; and his brother-in-law, Gene Raymond.
