Lavere F. Zuehlke, 99, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, at Arborwood Lodge in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Kevin Ader will officiate. A time of visitation for relatives and friends will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Lavere was born April 12, 1922, in Marshfield, WI, to Percy and Rosella (Meitner) DuPee. She married Urban Zuehlke, on December 6, 1941, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pittsville, WI. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage.
Lavere was activity director at the Wood County Infirmary and later Edgewater Haven Nursing Home of Port Edwards, WI. She loved to go fishing with her husband, traveling to visit her son, baking, and gardening. Lavere was a Cub Scout troop leader. Music was a big part of her life and she played both the violin and organ. She sang in the Immanuel Lutheran Church choir, and participated with the drum and bugle corps. Lavere was an avid collector of turtles with family and friends presenting her with hundreds over the years.
Lavere is survived by her son, Rodney (Phyllis) Zuehlke of Galena, IL; her son-in-law, Michael Terril of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; granddaughter Tracy (Kurt) Gagnow of Seymour, WI; and great-grandchildren Caitlin Diggles and Jacob Gagnow.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter June Terril; infant son Ronald; granddaughter Jami Terril and half-brother Robert Knoll.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, Rev. Kevin Ader, and members of Immanuel Lutheran Church for their visits and care given to Lavere.
