Services will be at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ed was born November 14, 1937 in Springfield, Illinois to Raymond and Vada (Bosaw) Leinweber.  He married Marlene King in May 1959.  The marriage later ended in divorce.  He married Sharon (Johnson) May on July 13, 1998. They were blessed with 23 years together.

Ed drove cab, worked at Preway, and later Consolidated Papers Inc., retiring in 1999.

Ed loved spending time with his family and friends, loved to play cards, and would often invite his grandkids over for breakfast.  He was a very generous person, often sharing his home grown produce and handyman skills with anyone in need. He was also known for being a foodie and would steal something off your plate when you weren’t looking.

He was an avid motorcycle rider, often joining fellow motorcyclists at rallies and for Tuesday morning breakfast. He liked to travel, especially out West to the Black Hills in South Dakota.  He enjoyed the many pets he had over the years, especially Tootsie.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Renee (Cliff) Kalata; daughter-in-law, Linda Leinweber; grandchildren: McKenna (Dylan) Schudy, Dawson “Layne” Kalata, Caitlin Leinweber, and Elizabeth (Dustin) Gessert; great-grandchildren: Tucker and Addison; brothers: Art Leinweber and Ron Leinweber; sisters: Ione Davison, Joyce (Rich) Gustin, Phyllis Cummings, and Jean Elliott; sister-in-law, Sharon Leinweber; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by son, Rodney Leinweber; brother, Joe Leinweber; an infant sister; sister-in-law, Bev Leinweber; and brothers-in-law: Jake Davison, Alvin Elliott, and Alby Cummings.
