Lillian Anna Flaig, age 98, of Rudolph, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Wellington Place in Biron.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Rudolph. Father Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point, WI. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass on Friday at the church.
Lillian was born on July 15, 1923 in Linwood, WI to Frank and Anna Nedrest. She grew up and attended school in the Stevens Point area, graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1942. She worked at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point as a nurse’s aide.
Her marriage to Walter Flaig took place at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stevens Point, WI on May 23, 1943. They were blessed with 77 years of love and companionship. Lillian and Walter owned and operated a dairy farm in the Stevens Point area and later in the Rudolph area. After retirement, they moved back to the Stevens Point area.
Lillian enjoyed doing things with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Rudolph River Rovers snowmobile club and spent time taking pictures for them. She loved gardening and flowers. Lillian enjoyed writing articles of family history and on occasion her articles appeared in the Stevens Point Journal.
Lillian is survived by three children: Carl (Carol) Flaig, Neal Flaig, and Suzanne Reber; daughter-in-law, Jean Flaig; son-in-law, Ed Passineau; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter Flaig; children: Marlene Passineau and Walter Flaig; son-in-law, Jack Reber; brothers: two brothers: Arthur (Jean) Nedrest and Henry (Evelyn) Nedrest; and one sister Grace Stojsavijevich.
