Lois graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. Lois married her high school and neighborhood sweetheart, Roger Smallbrook on June 20, 1949 in Fort Brag, North Carolina and celebrated 69 years together.

Lois worked for the Wood County Bank and Daly’s Appliance as a bookkeeper for 10 years. Lois and Roger were blessed with 2 boys, Tim in 1959 and Dan in 1963, both of Wisconsin Rapids. Mom enjoyed reading (100’s) of books, knitting, crocheting, and needle point, making many afghans, hundreds of newborn baby hats (donated to the Marshfield hospital maternity ward), many stocking caps, mittens and wool boot socks that wore like iron, along with needle point pictures and pillow cases. Mom was also a very good cook and made any wild game Roger and the boys brought home delicious. Mom mostly enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her two grandchildren Ethan and Stacy, and going to indoor or outdoor activities they were involved in and being so PROUD of them both.

Lois was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and later St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and could be found most Sundays in the same pew. Lois will be dearly missed by her friends and family members.

Lois is survived by her two sons; Tim (Marcia) Smallbrook and Dan (Carmen) Smallbrook; grandson Ethan Smallbrook (fiancée Allison Swires); granddaughter Stacy Smallbrook; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
