Malcolm Lee McGregor

June 22, 2014 ~ January 6, 2022 (age 7)

Obituary

Malcolm Lee McGregor, age 7, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his home following a three year battle with neuroblastoma.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the Wisconsin Rapids Performing Arts Center.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday at the PAC.  The family requests anyone planning to attend the visitation or service to consider wearing their favorite superhero shirt, a shirt with an owl on it, or a shirt from one of Malcolm’s benefits.  Also, due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, face masks will be required for all in attendance.

Malcolm was born June 22, 2014 in Grovetown, Georgia to Jonathon and Tracy (Piotrowski) McGregor.

Malcolm, like many children his age, was energetic and full of life.  He loved playing Minecraft and Roblox with his siblings.  He adored the outdoors and loved going camping with his family.  He enjoyed swimming and learning magic tricks.  He had a love for superheroes, Sonic the Hedgehog, sloths, and giraffes.

Malcolm was a mischievous young man and a bit of a prankster.  He loved playing pranks on the doctors and nurses on the peds floor and recruiting other young patients to help him.  He was mature beyond his years, which led to his special love of owls.  Malcolm held firm to the belief that after his death, he would come back as an owl.

Malcolm is survived by his parents, Jon and Tracy McGregor; his sister Alexandria, his brother Grayson; grandparents: Brad and Jenny McGregor, Don and Jean Kohloff, and Jerome Piotrowski; uncles and aunts: Jorden (Molly) McGregor, Joshua (Brittny) McGregor, Amy (Ryan) Koelemay, Kimberly (Nathan) Christy, Rhiannon Kohloff (Robert Falkowski II), and Ryan Kohloff; great-grandmother Betty Arts; best friends Adrienne and Henry; and many other relatives, cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by great-grandparents: Robert and Dolores Munro, Bobbie McGregor, Vernon and MaryEllen Piotrowski, and Jerome and Shirley Ebel.

Although Malcolm struggled with his cancer for three years, his struggle was not alone.  He lost many young friends along the way.  Please remember to continue to support the many children who continue to struggle with this terrible disease.
