Richard T. Dyszelski

October 27, 1956 ~ April 16, 2022 (age 65)


Richard Thomas Dyszelski, 65, passed away April 16, 2022 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen, WI after a courageous battle with cancer and dementia preceded by a struggle with addiction.  

Interment with military honors will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11am at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Waupaca, WI.

Richard was born October 27, 1956 in Cudahy, Wisconsin to Eugene and Dolores Dyszelski.  He attended Cudahy High School until the age of 17, and then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he later earned his GED.  He served three years as an armored crewman, stationed in Germany and Kansas before being honorably discharged. 

After returning home, he held various careers including airline refueling and de-icing at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, WI, and production at Patrick Cudahy and Everbrite, LLC, retiring in 2019. Richard loved aviation, especially the Blue Angels. He also enjoyed cooking, fixing and tinkering, and collecting coins and other memorabilia. He took great pride in his children, son-in-law, and three grandchildren. 

Richard married Cathy Tork in 1985. Richard and Cathy had two children, Melissa (Andrew) Miller, Wisconsin Rapids, and Matthew Dyszelski, Wisconsin Rapids. The marriage ended in divorce.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Dyszelski. He is survived by his children and grandchildren, Jacob, Mason, and Ella Miller, Wisconsin Rapids; brothers, Robert Dyszelski, Saint Francis; Michael (Lisa) Dyszelski, South Milwaukee; and Dennis (Chris Spannraft) Dyszelski, Muskego.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his honor to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (select Milwaukee- C J Zablocki VAMC) or the American Legion to support Veterans, especially those facing a cancer diagnosis or struggling with addiction. 

The family would like to extend warmest thanks and sincere appreciation to Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion for Richard in his final stages of life.
