Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Ronald K. Bannerman’s love of life did not come to an end with his death. Ronald passed away on, May 8,2021 at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest, and always remembering the love and pride he had for his family.
Ronald was born to Richard and Iva Bannerman on February 1, 1957. Ronald was a Nekoosa High School graduate, class of 1976. Ronald was united in marriage to the love of his life, Diane (Pech) Bannerman on September 23, 1978. Together, they had two children: Ryan (Laura) Bannerman, and Bobbi (Robert) Jewison. The real joy and pride of Ronald’s life came with his four grandchildren: Jonathon Bannerman, Isabella Jewison, Iliyanna Jewison, and Izareeya Jewison. Ronald also was blessed with two step grandchildren Samantha Weber and Thersia Weber, and two step great granddaughters: Aliyah McCracken, and Aurora Ostrander. It was a rarity for grandpa to ever say no to his grandchildren, and was notorious for getting into mischief right alongside of them. You would always hear Ronald making up his own parodies to nursery rhymes, and songs with his grandchildren. Ronald had a strong work ethic, early on while still in High School Ronald worked at Nekoosa Food Town, Anthony Farms following high school graduation, Raulin Fuel, Woodland’s, and Port Edwards Paper Mill from 1986-2008 when the paper mill closed.
Ronald built his home in Rome and moved from Nekoosa to Rome in 2001. Ronald’s greatest passions in life were fishing, hunting and woodworking. Ronald loved fishing whether it was from the dock, in a boat or out on the ice in the ice shack. Ronald also enjoyed tinkering around in his garage/man cave. Ronald enjoyed his woodworking and made beautiful pieces such as hope chests, dressers, and much more. Most people say that duct tape is a fix all for everything, but for Ronald it was zip ties. Ronald found joy in even going to the “dump” where he would always assist anyone in need. Then Ronald would always take the “scenic route” while venturing back home, to see how many turkey’s and deer he could see.
Ronald is further survived by his siblings: Howard (Cindy) Bannerman, Craig (Jamie) Bannerman, and Jolene (Norman) Amell. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Bannerman, mother-in-law Rose Pech, nephew Derrick Exner, and brothers-in-law, Duane Exner and Donald Cross.
