Sarah Nason, age 74, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on July 28th, 2022, at her home.
Sarah was born in Wisconsin Rapids on November 28th, 1947, to Bertram and Irene (Johnston) Nason. Sarah was the youngest of their three children. Sarah grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and graduated from Lincoln High School. She took classes at UWSP in home economics, but did not pursue a degree. Sarah worked at the Opportunity Development Center, Inc., in Wisconsin Rapids, among other jobs prior to retiring.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, and two siblings, Cynthia Schumacher and Daniel Nason. She is survived by one son, Jeffrey Schmidt and his wife, Sarah along with their three children, Natalie, Hannah, and Chloe. Sarah has many nieces and nephews that were also in her life. Sarah had a special friend for over 15 years, Ron (Hank) Henke. Sarah was a caring, gracious, and all-around wonderful person, she will be missed by all.
Sarah had a love for spending time with her family, and closest friends. She was involved in the community and helped found the Family Crisis Center, to help others in need of a safe place. She was also involved in her church, Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. She enjoyed going out to eat, attending community events, going to Senior Splash at the YMCA of Wisconsin Rapids, and shopping.
A funeral will be held at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 320 Oak St. in Wisconsin Rapids on August 5th at 11:00 A.M. A luncheon and celebration of life will continue at the church following the service. Please come to celebrate Sarah’s life and share stories about how Sarah touched your life.
