Obituary

William Alton Hendon, age 84, passed away on August 27, 2023, at Edgewater Haven with his family by his side.  He was born on June 4, 1939, in Tennessee, the youngest of 9 children of Jim and Lola (Hopkins) Hendon. Bill served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Southerland. Bill married Lila Seppanen on December 15, 1962. Living in Indiana, he owned his own barber shop. The family then moved to Gladstone Michigan, where he owned and operated the Bungalow Tavern for 30 years. He was a Member of the U.P. Chiefs Motorcycle Club.  He enjoyed music and entertaining all his life. His family, friends, and customers her very important to him, everyone loved his jokes and fun spirit. 

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lila; his children, William Darren (Lisa) Hendon and Jamie (David Smith) Hendon; his 2 grandchildren, Maggie, and Erick.

Bill lived a full and happy life, if you don’t think so Bill would smile and say, “Look what you got to think with.”
